Changsha to Invest 3 Bln in Water Conservancy Projects

According to the mobilization meeting on water projects in Changsha on October 8, 2013, the city plans to spend 3 billion yuan on 30,000 water conservancy projects this winter and next spring, making the total investment in this sector 6.1 billion in 2014. These projects are scheduled to commence early December. 90% of these projects are expected to be accomplished prior to the 2014 Spring Festival, while the rest will be completed ahead of the flood season in 2014.

Zhang Yinglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee urged relevant departments to fully recognize the prominent role of water projects in spurring social and economic development. He vowed to firmly support the immediate implementation of the new round of ecological water conservancy project construction. Departments involved must pay more attention to guiding the implementation of these projects, so as to guarantee the successful realization of the set goals.
